Vairagya is non-attachment or dispassion toward all temporal objects. On the positive side it is the firmest and most fervent attachment to that which is Eternal. Although usually thought of as a monastic trait (and there can be no honest monastic life without vairagya), it is a necessity for all spiritual seekers, and the articles presented here on the subject should be read with that perspective.
